2023 ASHRAE LowDown ShowDown Recap

A few weeks ago, ENERlite's CEO, Ladan Ghobad, Ph.D., was selected to serve as a Judge at the 2023 LowDown ShowDown high-performance building design competition in Austin, Texas! This exceptional event brought together some of the brightest minds in the building sustainability industry. Joining esteemed professionals Christina Brown and Keith A. Simon, FAIA as fellow judges, Ladan evaluated building designs that would transform the iconic Houston Astrodome into a beacon of sustainability and community engagement.

The competition was a testament to the power of collaboration and fresh thinking in building sustainability. The participants showed strong dedication and creativity. The commitment to creating durable, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible facilities was evident in each design. The winning teams had starkly contrasting approaches, and both were quite compelling! Congratulations to both the Carbon Lighters’ Alfonso E Hernandez, AIA LEED AP and his team, and the CO2 Crew’s Samira Mohazabieh and her team.
